Traditional way of harvesting rice is so hard and time-consuming that today more than 80 percent of the harvest is done using mechanized systems.
Farmers in Alamout, located in Qazvin Province, produce different kinds of rice, including “Hashemi”, “Ali Kazemi”, “Hasan Sara”, “Tarem”, “Khanjari”, and “Mousa Tarem”.
Some 3750 hectares of lands in the area are planted with rice.
